The Hoke County Rent/Mortgage and Utilities Assistance Program is no longer accepting applications. Current grant funding for these programs has been disbursed. American Rescue Plan/Third Stimulus
A third round of direct stimulus payments was approved for eligible taxpayers which began distribution 3/13/2021. The payments will be based on most recent tax return information on file with the IRS. Anyone with an adjusted gross income (AGI) under $75,000 and married couples earning under $150,000 will receive the full $1,400 or $2,800 payment, respectively. After those limits, individuals earning $80,000 or above, and couples earning $160,000 or above, will get no third payment. For more information, visit:
Extra Credit Grant Extended: Established by law in 2020 to use funds from the Coronavirus Relief Fund to help families with qualifying children in North Carolina by providing economic support to assist with virtual schooling and child-care costs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under legislation signed into law February 10, 2021, individuals who missed the original Extra Credit grant deadline may be eligible to receive the $335 grant payment.
The new law extending the Extra Credit Grant program through May 31, 2021 only applies to eligible individuals who have NOT received the $335 grant. If you have already received the $335 grant, you are not eligible under the new law.
